When you are in contract or about to go into contract to buy a house don't let no one tell you not to get an engineer inspection to cut cost, it "WILL" come back to haunt you later on. Pay the $ 300-500 (base on the style of home) and use the report as an advantage to negotiate your deal and it help you to not get BURN later.
